Sarah Faragher    Don Best    Kerry Eaton
    September 15-October 14,2025
Reception September 20, 4-6

My paintings are memoirs of my experiences with nature. Through painting I participate in the landscape, recognize transcendent moments in nature, honor the integrity of natural forms, and describe where my heart lives.  I often feel as if the places I paint have commissioned me to tell their autobiographies, at the same time that I tell my own.

"Autobiography of an Island" is a long-term project Sarah completed this fall. Between 2007 and 2018, she stayed alone for a week or more each June on a small island in Penobscot Bay:Bear Island. While she was there,Sarah painted and kept a diary culminating this is a distillation of the diary and a memoir " of one of the happiest times in my life." It's 10 x 8" and 282 pages, text only except for the image on the cover, which is a view from Bear Island.
Autobiography of an Island - a memoir - 2021, hardbound, $40. Contact Sarah at [email protected]. The book is also available at Littlefield Gallery and The Landing Gallery in Rockland.
